Interviewer: Great to see you again, Sherrie, today at Rese! I always love watching you! I find you such an inspiration!
Sherrie Storor: Thank you, darling! Thanks for having me!
Interviewer: You’re welcome! So people who want to take their career to the next level, what would be the advice from you?
Sherrie Storor: I tell agents to take a day off, because you can’t put deals together if you’re just constantly working all the time, you can’t see from the noise, so that’s what I say and they need the courage to make sure you’re accountable and also learn new skillsets and actually have the mindset changes to really I guess progress in terms of that next sort of level of your career.
Interviewer: Sure! So what do you use for inspiration? What inspires you?
Sherrie Storor: Yeah. I think at different stages of life, we have different things. For me right now, I’m loving the beach. I just think that that’s a really nice –
Interviewer: I do see you there quite often!
Sherrie Storor: So I’ve got my home in Brisbane and also my home in Byron Bay and I think it’s really nice to escape and have some me time because when I’m working with my agents and doing training or 1:1 that’s an opportunity for me to be on because when I’m off I’m at the beach and that’s where I take my greatest inspiration.
Interviewer: And you take the energy and put it back on people.
Sherrie Storor: Sure!
Interviewer: So what do you think the three attributes of a successful person is?
Sherrie Storor: I think really energy. I think we all have days when we’re not feeling so great and you have to get up and go to work and I think you can either make that a mediocre day or you can make that a fantastic day. So could be a matter of how you send the energy that you’re portraying. So it’s like you have to get up. I think having that energy that you’re portraying whether you’re at a listing presentation, private inspection or on the phone, I think that energy is super important. The 2nd one is that tenacity and having that mental commitment to keeping on track for what you need to do and the ability that even if you’re having a bad day, what you have to do to really turn it around to make it a good one. Sometimes that means just getting on and enjoying those activities that make you feel good.
Interviewer: I was gonna ask you how you bounce back from a bad day – you covered that nicely. Is there anything else that you want to share with people from today?
Sherrie Storor: I think today has been really great, actually! What’s wonderful about Rese is there’s all different ages from all different aspects of their careers, which I think is really nice. Sometimes we just see agents on stage at the top of their careers, I think it’s nice to see different avenues. And what’s been so great about today it’s just the fact that outside everyone is networking and having a conversation. Feels like a real real estate community and that’s good.
Interviewer: I’m glad you feel that. There’s a lot of people but when you do see superstars in the industry up on stage, they can feel like it’s too far of a gap to actually achieve the next level so that’s why we wanted to have a variation of speakers here today. I really appreciate you coming and speaking today and I look forward to seeing you again soon. Thank you!
Sherrie Storor: Thank you for having me!
Interviewer: Thank you, Sherrie!
